The Secret Garden

Orphaned Mary Lennox arrives at Misselthwaite Manor from India, to find a sad house, full of mysteries. She determines to discover more about one of them ...

Mary makes a discovery which may help her in her search for the garden; but as she gets closer to one mystery, another one begins to appear.

At last Mary finds the door in the wall and behind it, more than she had even hoped for. But Misselthwaite still holds on to its other secrets.

At last Mary comes face to face with her guardian, her Uncle Archibald Craven , the cold and remote owner of Misselthwaite Manor, but an even stranger meeting takes place that night.

Mary's growing happiness at Misselthwaite, her pleasure in the hidden garden and her friendship with Dickon conflict with her new-found cousin Colin's wishes-with tempestuous results.

In spring, Colin's health and temper improve so fast that Mary and Dickon feel they can share the garden with him. They take him there, but find they are not quite alone....

The garden weaves its strange spell round Mary, Dickon and Colin until at last more people than the children realise the importance of magic -and how it can change lives.
