Kaz finds himself ensnared in a moral and professional predicament after agreeing to defend a man accused of murdering a popular musician. This decision costs him dearly, as the victim's wife, once a close friend, cuts ties with Kaz upon learning of his plans. Despite the fallout, Kaz remains resolute, convinced that the animosity between the accused killer and the victim stemmed from allegations of infidelity. The accused, Johnny, is charged with the murder of Buddy, Anita's husband, complicating matters further since Buddy was also a personal friend of Kaz. Tensions rise as Anita directs blame toward Johnny's wife, Gail, accusing her of having an affair with Buddy. However, Johnny disputes this narrative, claiming instead that Buddy was the one who pursued Gail aggressively.
