In the fall of 2024, the police in Skåne receive a report of a rape of an underage girl in Hörby. The suspected perpetrator is arrested and it turns out that they have once again caught the "Nytorgsmannen", Sweden's worst serial rapist, four years after he ravaged Södermalm in Stockholm. When a new preliminary investigation against the man now begins, the police quickly come across a number of new crimes.

When kiosk owner Hanna Konac is brutally robbed and murdered in her convenience store in Norrköping, the police, despite several witnesses, have no trace of the perpetrators. After a while, it emerges that a series of robberies in Gothenburg have had a similar approach and the hunt can begin. There are many indications that it could be a man and a pregnant woman. Suddenly, the police receive a tip-off that changes the game plan considerably.

On Christmas Eve 2024, a burning car is discovered at a swimming spot in the small town of Hindås, outside Gothenburg. When emergency services arrive, they find a body in the back seat. Meanwhile, a mud-covered man carrying a baseball bat is roaming the small community, and a worried girlfriend reports her boyfriend missing. Clues and leads eventually guide police investigators to a Christmas party at a private home. But the big question remains: who did what, and why?

An elderly couple discovers a body wrapped in plastic bags in Lake Lafssjön, outside Uppsala. Police investigators soon find themselves entangled in a complex investigation in which a group of the victim's friends become key figures of interest.

In 2009, a woman was found dead in her bathroom in Värnamo. She hangs in a noose and the police determine suicide. But after a couple of months, a new woman, in the same area, is found dead in her toilet.

On the night of May 17, 2005, the historic Grand Central Hotel in Gävle burns to the ground, taking the entire city block with it. The police face the challenge of catching the arsonist responsible for the worst fire the city has seen in living memory. The resulting investigation spans several years, involving the Special Operations Section (SSI) and undercover police officers in the hunt for the perpetrators.

A woman reports an abandoned car in a ditch outside Katrineholm to the police. Later that evening, the same woman receives a strange visit from two men who claim to have been involved in a fishing accident.

On July 31, 2018, Gert-Inge Bertinsson travels to Markaryd to get a haircut. After his visit to the barber, however, he vanishes without a trace—as does his gold-colored Volvo. Initially, the police have no leads regarding the missing man, but a witness spots his car bearing false license plates, setting the hunt for the suspected perpetrators in motion. The investigation takes the authorities on a journey to Norrland, through Stockholm, and on to Germany and Poland, where they are finally able to apprehend two male suspects.
