From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman

Several months after taking on the role of special instructor for the Knights of Liberio, Beryl was gradually settling into life in the capital. One day, Lucy and Fissel came to Beryl's house. Their purpose was to invite Beryl to be a temporary lecturer at the Magic Academy. Hesitantly, Beryl tentatively agreed and witnessed Fissel's teaching methods firsthand in the Sword Magic department, where Mui also studied. Then, in the course of answering a student's question, he ended up sparring with Fissel—

Beryl, now a temporary lecturer, is racking her brain trying to figure out how to teach the inept Fissel how to teach. Meanwhile, Mui doesn't seem to be quite warming up to her classmates. However, during lunch break, she shows signs of change in her interaction with Cindy. At the small party that follows, Beryl smiles fondly at the growth of Mui and Fissel. At that moment, something unusual happens at the magic academy.

A wolf-like shadow attacks the teachers, rendering magic unusable near the school. To investigate the cause of this bizarre situation, Beryl and Fissel, who can fight without magic, storm into the school. At the same time, the shadow wolf appears in the cafeteria where the Sword Magic students are waiting, and Mui and the others decide to confront it, acknowledging their own inexperience. What will be the outcome of their respective battles?

A letter arrives for Beryl from the village of Biden. It is from her father, Mordea, and is a request for her to return home, containing details unique to Biden village. As the magic academy is on summer break, Beryl invites Myui to come home with her. With Myui accepting the invitation, Henblitz who has become interested in the village, and Kurni who shows up unannounced, Beryl makes her first trip home, but the very next day an unexpected battle erupts.

The operation to defeat the saberboar has begun. Along the way, Kurni fulfills his long-held wish to defeat the saberboar and feels a sense of personal growth. Meanwhile, Landrid makes full use of his experience and knowledge as a former adventurer, and also displays his swordsmanship to the fullest. Witnessing this, Henblitz is inspired and challenges Landrid to a duel, which Landrid accepts. The battle between the two shakes the soul of Beryl, and the other swordsman as well.

With the sabre boar nest destroyed and the threat eliminated, the village of Biden is holding its annual festival. At the feast, Henblitz and Landrid deepen their friendship, while Adel and Edel look after Mui. Beryl watches the young people enjoying the festival while grilling meat for everyone, and reflects on his own true feelings as he grows older. Then Mordea appears and takes Beryl to the dojo. Will Beryl be able to overcome the formidable obstacle that is his father, Mordea?

The Margrave of Flumewerk. Allusia and Beryl were invited to a ball held in this territory, which borders the neighboring country of Sfendyardbania. The invitation also served to confirm the travel route in preparation for Princess Sarakia's upcoming wedding. Along the long journey, Beryl offered advice and encouragement to the young knights. What awaited Beryl upon his arrival in the land was a reunion with an unexpected person.

Shuste, the sister of former disciple Warren, aggressively tries to get close to Beryl, and she has a solid reason for doing so. Seeing that Allusia is worried about Shuste's advances, Warren encourages Allusia while explaining his own intentions and his sister's motives. Shuste's heart is moved by the behavior Beryl displays at the ball that is held in this way. On their way back to the capital after successfully completing their duties, Beryl and his companions encounter an unexpected situation.

Back in the capital, Beryl struggles to shake his guilt over Vesper's grave injuries, while Surena tries to cheer him up. The day of Princess Salacia's wedding draws near, and Beryl joins the escort detail. After a short reunion with Shueste and with the threat of an attack by the Verdapis Mercenary Company looming, they reach Dilmahakha, the holy city of Sphenedyardvania. But who is watching him?

Allucia and Gatoga visit Beryl at his lodgings in Dilmahakha, and Gatoga shows Beryl around the city. Once they're alone, Gatoga tells him what became of Rose. Back in Baltrain, Curuni and Ficelle put Mewi through special training, while Lucy and Ibroy meet in secret. The new year arrives, bringing Princess Salacia's wedding - and screams of terror ring out through the cathedral.

The Verdapis Mercenary Company bursts into the cathedral. Beryl moves to stop them, but Ibroy yells, "They're on our side!" Forced into an uneasy alliance, Beryl and the others escort the prince and princess safely to the palace. Along the way, Beryl's rage clashes with Hanoy's pride as a mercenary. But an even greater crisis engulfs the Holy City - caused by none other than Pope Morris himself.

The masked White Maiden is revealed to be none other than Beryl's former student, Rose. Beryl and the White Maiden meet up with Allucia and Surena, who have successfully taken down the Chimera, and they head to back up the Verdapis Mercenary Company. There, they find Hanoy on the brink of defeat - and Pope Morris standing calmly before him. The final battle is about to begin.
