About
Gone but not forgotten. From the Peking Man to fugitive DB Cooper, from Columbus's sunken Santa Maria to Cambyses's vanished armies, history's missing pieces evade recapture. Ensnared in illicit dealings, cloaked in myth and rumour, hunted by the masses, phantom fragments inspire obsession and theories of sabotage, miscalculation, and worlds undone without warning. How did we allow these precious relics to slip from our grasp? And what, if anything, is left to be found? Investigators follow trails through the past, sifting through desert sands for ancient armour, combing coral reefs for traces of first contact and parsing FBI profiles for new suspects. Amid cloak and dagger rendezvous, forgotten testimonies, and new studies, are we on the verge of great rediscovery?
